March certainly rolled in like a lion for Repêchage CEO Lydia Sarfati, whose hectic schedule has included teaching a class at the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology, a Network Power Lunch in New York, a graduate studies guest lecture at the Fashion Institute of Technology and America’s Beauty Show and Face and Body Spa & Healthy Aging Conference in Chicago. On March 17th, Lydia flew cross-country to the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology to offer a seminar on the state of the beauty industry and how to achieve success at every level. The two hour course offered a look at the evolution of the American day spa, industry trends and tips for maintaining success in the beauty industry, from marketing and retailing to client retention. A regular contributor to the Institute’s program, Sarfati takes a sense of pride in guiding budding estheticians with her own knowledge and experience. “Enrollment in beauty schools is increasing steadily,” Lydia says, “I am thrilled to see such bright and eager students like those of the San Francisco Institute who will continue to help strengthen the spa industry.” On March 22nd, Repêchage and Paramount Beauty hosted a Network Power Lunch for salon and spa professionals at Limani restaurant in Roslyn, NY. Special guest speaker Lois Christie, President of Intercoiffure North America and owner of the Christie & Co. Salon • Spa, shared ideas stemming from her own personal spa success. Lois offered her insight on promotions, signature treatments and general practices that have shaped her spa business into an ever-thriving success and the ways in which she is responding to the current economic climate to maintain her business. A compelling example, Lois recently remodeled her entire salon! For Christie it was a demonstration that Christie Salon • Spa is here to stay. Repêchage CEO and Founder Lydia Sarfati gave a presentation on “10 Steps for Success in the Skin Care Business.” From staff motivation, effective retailing, client retention and learning to spot your own weaknesses, Lydia’s presentation ran the gamut of successfully managing a spa. With Lydia’s guidelines, any dedicated spa or salon can take advantage of this thriving industry to run a successful business. On March 25th, Lydia headed to NYC’s Fashion Institute of Technology where she led a graduate studies class on product development. From the origin of her spa career and the conception of Repêchage to where she is today, Lydia’s presentation covered all bases of how to effectively turn an idea into a sustainable and profitable business. Lydia’s most pertinent points included where her inspiration comes from, how to identify and capture your market, promote your product and brand and adapt to economical and industrial changes. As Lydia can tell you, an idea can be great, but it’s what you do with that idea that really counts! Lydia wrapped up the month at America’s Beauty Show and America’s Beauty Show and Face and Body Spa & Healthy Aging Conference in Chicago, where she offered several educational classes: The Art and Science of Facial Massage; Scientific Solutions to Acne Skin- Hydra Medic Facial with Desincrustation Mask; Healthy Aging: A Holisitic and Scientific Approach Towards Aging; and Facial Finished: Now... Makeup! Easy, Fundamental Makeup Techniques Required for Success. The motto at the Repêchage ABS booth this year was “retail-tainment.” Repêchage offered complimentary express spa treatments at the Repêchage Facial Bar, the concept that salons have been utilizing to maximize their business, and also featured live demonstrations of signature treatments, including the #1 Facial in the world, the Repêchage Four Layer Facial and the Vita Cura Five Phase Firming Facial with anti-aging benefits. As Lydia says, “Show and Tell and You Will Sell!” For more information on Repêchage and Repêchage Educational Events, log onto www.repechage.com or call 1800-248-SKIN.
