First Impressions Are Everlasting: Beauty Tips for the First Day
August 26, 2016

Heading back to school or about to start a new job? This time of year can be stressful! Whether you’re returning to familiar faces or entering brave new worlds, now’s your chance to make a new first impression, so read on for our tips on how to put your most fresh face forward for this fall’s first day.

Tip 1: Skin Care 101

If in the summer you also took time off from a proper skin care routine, it’s time to get back on track, especially leading up to the first day. Morning and night get back to the basics of cleansing, toning, using a serum followed by a moisturizer, and exfoliating 2-3 times a week. You’ll be glowing come the first day!

Tip 2: Spot Check

The last way you want to draw attention is because of a huge zit on your forehead. Treat any pimple now before it becomes a big problem. Use a serum with salicylic acid all over your face night to help gently exfoliate, and for surface zits, spot treat overnight with a sulfur-based drying lotion that will work during the night to leave you with a fresh face in the morning.

Tip 3: Seeing Red?

If skin sensitivity is an issue, don’t ignore this issue or try to mask it with makeup. Start incorporating a calming, anti-redness serum into your routine to help reduce the appearance of redness on your complexion.

Tip 4: Keep Your Cool

If tense situations can make you break a sweat, be prepared with tools to help you cool down. Pack your backpack or purse with a bottle of water and a cooling facial spray. Not only will this help to cool you off, but it’s just what your skin needs to prevent your makeup from wilting away.
