Hi, I’m Shiri Sarfati and I want to share with you why it’s important to use a facial toner, especially after you cleanse your skin which can strip your skin of its natural moisturizers and cause your pH balance to be thrown out of whack.

A facial toner is essential to rebalance your skin pH, it also has a great tightening effect on your pores and it helps bind moisture. If your third step is going to be a serum or moisturizer, your toner is going to be your essential step between cleansing and moisturizing in order to retain that great moisture level in your skin.

There are so many different toners to choose from and I would recommend choosing a toner based on your skin type. Whether you’re skin is oily, if you’re looking for brightening effects, if you tend to be on the more sensitive side, or if you have combination skin, there is a facial toner for you! We actually have several toners, from our Biolight™ Brightening Toner to our Hydra 4® Tonic for sensitive skin, which is a spray toner that I actually demonstrated in last week’s video, so do check on that, and our oily combination skin toner, T-Zone® Balance Toning Complex. These toners are really simple to use, you just take nice cotton, saturate it and apply it all over your skin.

Now, you may be asking about astringents. Astringents are typically used for oilier and more problematic skin types, and we have two types, the Hydra Medic® Astringent and the Herbal Astringent that you can use for oily skin. They will also help with reducing the pore size, so you don’t have to cake on makeup when you use a great astringent in your skincare routine.

You can use a toner or astringent twice daily, in the morning and at night, and again this is going to be your second product that you use in your skincare routine. I hope that this helped and if you’re not using a toner or astringent right now, do include that in your skincare routine; it will make a world of difference in the power of your moisturizers because if you’re using a great active moisturizer it’s not going to benefit your skin as much if you don’t use your toners. Thank you!
